Is there any electronic fuel pump that can be used other than the outragesly expensive original pump?

No. They're expensive because they're rare and don't operate like a typical fuel pump.

Do you still have yoursl? They're quite hardy and rarely break. They do jam up, but it's fairly easy to fix. I wrote about it here:

Ian, no- I don't have a pump. I'm slowly trying to put together a working heater piece by piece. Got the heater, exhaust pipe, heat control cable, and defrost elbow. Need defroster ducts, air intake, defroster cable, timer switch and seem like the list goes on and on. Drove in the Christmas Parade in the rain last Sat. and nearly froze.
Appreciate the directions to BN4 tests and troubleshooting.

The switch and pump from a T4 baywindow BN4 will work.

Will the timer switch from a T4 car work with the Thing BN4? If so, I have a spare one I'd part with.

Matt
The part # for the heater sw. is 181-963-107 and the time sw. relay is
211-963-141.
Seems like the heater(timer) sw. is Thing only.
Anyone know what the difference is?

Do you have the heater manual? I got one with one of my past Things and it is great. The Thing shop may have them or you may be able to find a version on line somewhere.
