The vin number on the chassis is on the rear top of the tunnel just in front of the shift coupler inspection (big oval hole) that would normally be under the back seat. The matching vin number on the body would be on a 2x3" aluminum plate rivited on behind the spare tire.

I need to take a rubbing of the VIN number on my 1968. I have the body off of the pan. Where can I take a rubbing at?
