A total revamp is now in the works. If this solves the reliability issues, I might ctually start enjoying the car again. _________________ 64 No'back Speedster "Pearl"

Today. For the 1st time in years, I have air cleaners on this car again.
Those will flow nicely and protect. _________________ 64 No'back Speedster "Pearl"

Brian, can you explain what we are looking at, for us mere mortals? |

Notice there is no hockeystick out of the nose cone. This is a midengine nose cone replacement that will use a shift rod instead of a pair of cables on a linkage to a stock nose cone.
Trust me, I am very much a mere mortal. _________________ 64 No'back Speedster "Pearl"

Seeing what I have to start with. A few pin holes and some definite work to do, but... this could get interesting.

The other day, I found the remains of the paint can for the car. In it is enough to shoot the trunk lid and the paint shop just told me it was still good. Since the lid needs something on it before fall, it will be a good chance to practice. _________________ 64 No'back Speedster "Pearl"

Paint a scrap metal piece so you can bring it in for a match later, if you want, Easier than trying to match actual car metal in place! |

I have never, ever had luck with a paint shop matching paint. The plan is to use what I have left and try and get 3 coats on before I run out. _________________ 64 No'back Speedster "Pearl"

The NOS trunklid is no longer in rough delivery primer... used 60 grit out to 600 grit to prep for sealer. Tonight more sanding and sealer. Tomorrow morning, we try and get some basecoat down.

Coat 4. After it flashes off completely, I will wet sand a little. No, the lid hasn't been body worked, as that was not the intent. It will be covered in like paint and layers so that I can body work the entire car later.

Reminds me of a Chevy guy many years ago. He liked Chevelle on-offs, and he was good!
1. He combined EL Camino and Chevelle wagon bits to make a modern day Nomad... a 2-door station wagon. Looked 100% factory. License: 1 2DOOR
2. He had a wagon colored "that" green. License: GMBYWGN
3. His wife's wagon, "that" pink. License: PEPTO |

Looks like a pretty close match to me. Might need to "cut and buff" it to get it closer. _________________ Bob 65 Notch S with Sunroof

I still have to add the clear. Since the car is always garaged, I hoped for minimal UV fade.
