I admit they are not as stiff as your class D hankooks. I do not know how much more weight your conversion will add. I also drive a Westy and they seem very stable. Even in wind and even at 70 mph. I have never ran my bus with class D tires so my opinion is a little short sided I admit. If you all ready own them. Give them a try. If you don't like them, put them back on your thing. I have never seen them "squat" as the other guy mentioned. I'm running VW facotry recommended tire pressures and could raise the pressure if I felt they were soft. _________________ James

How loud are those tires? |
Don't know can't hear them over the motor. |
How about side wall roll over on turns and over all feel, many have said the General Grabber AT2 27X8.5R14 dont feel stable. |
My general grabbers feel better than my BFG all terrains. Who is bashing the grabbers? |
Interesting! I cant find the quote, but the guy said his rear end was wagging like a puppy on a windy day with the Grabbers as they are class C. I have a set on my Thing i'm thinking about transferring over to my Bay after my Subi conversion. Figured a 2.7 liter and 5 speed trans deserves some beefier tires than my Hankook's (which have been awesome so far), my concern is between the increased weight of new engine and trans I might be asking for trouble, oh ya she's a Westy as well so she's loaded to the gills. My hope is the Koni's will help stabilize. Any opinions? |

I guess not because I see quite a few bus pictures like this:

I've been out with that exact bus, one of the trips this happened:
Once we drained the water out of the crankcase and dried the ignition, off it went no worse for wear. |
