Has anyone added a second alternator? Sorry if this idea was brought up before, but I just had an idea,mounting a second alt. where the a/c compresser was located. I don't really need the air as much as I need the "JUICE". Electric 101 never was my long suit, so let the blogs begin!!

You don't need a second alt unless you're running an ambulance service or heavy power tools off of an inverter.
What you need, is more battery.

Yes, some diesel Vanagons and Pickups came with a factory dual alt. setup.
They have been available in the classifieds section in the past.
I have also run an additional alt off the prop shaft in a Syncro.
There is a PTO nose cone available for Syncro applications too.
It will allow for an addition alt., hydraulic pump....you name it.
Yes, more batteries are needed too.
