Is this like "come correct night" between you ans Lee Laughing Im liking it. Here is the pic of the cap and the differances I brought up to Bob as he pulled 7 caps from a yard I took him to. Ive noticed the differance about a year ago when I glanced at my stack of caps. These are all T3 caps with the inset VW for sure.

Now I wana know who has the most caps in their collection? Include the ones on your cars! snotchback, pedro and myself have more than 10. Who has the most?

I have 20 total. Of my 12 loose ones I have 9 thin and 3 fat. I know that my 63 notch has 3 fat and one thin with correct T3 accessory trim rings on it-all being held on just fine disproving a trim ring holding issue. It was proposed that the fats may of been early-no trim and the thins late 64-65 with trim to hold better? My 63 notch is to be all original, but has been in an accident at one point in its life resulting in one of my rims to be of 64-65 origin. Think

That's such a strange thing ...
I've been doing this for a few years now and have never noticed the two versions. I'm always learning!
I've got 13 loose & 8 on my two T34s to make 21.

Are these sharp or rounded ones here?

The winner will have to post pic proof so we can all truly see how deeply infected you are by the hoarding syndrome Wink

I think I only have about 12. My '62 Ghia's original hubcaps are the flatter ones. Maybe the difference is due to VW using more than one subcontractor?

My accountant says I have to inventory all my stuff, so we will see then who has the most T-3 hubcaps.
I reached down into a box the other day, and it was full of either T-3 or 66-67 bug hubcaps. Either way it is a good find.

Interesting, I never noticed that before.

I looked at the 4 originals for my '63 and 3 are fat.

I'm not sure how many I have total. I found one crate of 19 and 2 more in another crate of Bus hubcaps. I may have more. Plus the 4 originals for my '63 which are not on the car because they are all curbed. Plus the 4 nice ones on my '63. So 29 right there.

The 19 are all dented or damaged in some way as I typically sell any nice ones when people are looking for 1-2. This limits my hoarding.

I thought for sure I had a great chance at being the master hoarder on these. Guess not between martin, lee, you and potientialy neil.

Can you get a pic of the T3 thin, fat and T1(66-76) fat to see how much if any fatter it is?

I have a mear 18, 8 on my 2 cars and 10 loose... seems like I'll have to make another run to the Junk Yard! Cool I'll have to inventory how many of those are of the thinner or fatter design. Can we determine if the earlies came with the fatter design... I wouldn't want to get expelled from the club sportin' the wrong thickness hubcap, if ya know what I mean... that Jason runs a tight ship! Shocked

The 66-67 Beetle one is much fatter, here is a photo with the Bug one on top:

Everett, how did you get those caps to suspend from the ceiling like that?

Can we determine which style came on the '61-'63?

LMAO. I have never in my life seen people become so animated about hub caps. Strangely the feeling that it's weird has been replaced by curiosity.

Most of my used ones with black-painted centers are the thicker style. I don't know if that helps.
