Jesse James just sold his 44. He was asking 525,000 USD. Not sure what it actually sold for though. _________________ Ed

He didn't sell it. Ebay pulled the auction because of a tiny little swastika on a badge on the rear fender. _________________ Chris

Ok, guys. Coming back to the original question: How many 1944 KdF Type 82 are know as survivors.
I created and update this list in my computer. By the way, just last week found and bought another 1943 KdF type 82e in Russia.
In 1944 I have
five (5) type 82e survivors on my list and
four (4) type 60.
There is one more body with a body number but no chassis. Could have been both types.
Cheers

in case anyone cares, i have the old (probably somewhat outdated) early VW registry that was started and kept by the late Steve Woods and Klaus Jacobson. in there it shows 23 type 82e; 11x 1943, 6x 1944, and 6x 1945. i have pics if anyone needs one. |

Can you post the list/serial numbers? I take it that the 45s are post war type 51 Beetles? |

sorry I just saw this request! This evening I will post the page from the registry that I have showing all the 82E'd and hopefully somebody can add that into their current registry or update what they have from it like I said I have had this information for about 25 years.

BTW, it looks like this particular 82e is back up for sale; looks like Randy from OldBug.com is the consignor. |

here is the page from my vintage VW registry that I've had for about 25 years this was taken from the late Steve Woods and Klaus Jacobson from Denmark Who at the time had been collecting this data since the 1970s. I mispoke earlier, I actually only show 16 82E models listed; the others especially the ones from 1945 or type 51 and type 87....
I do not know how outdated this is there maybe other cars that have surfaced since this was printed....

you can see that the car for sale here on TS is listed on this page. I think there may have been a discrepancy with the Vin number, I show it as 33568, in the pictures of the Vin plate on old bug.com it appears to look like 33588 but its hard to tell if that is a "6" or an "8" due to the font type used on the stamping. it's definitely the same car, listed as being from France and being delivered to the offices of Herman Goring, etc. |
