It's funny that the Porsche people think that these wheels were made just for them - they called them "McAfee Wheels". The Sunbeam Tiger people think these are "their" wheels too - and they were called "LAT 70" due to the option number assigned by Rootes the importer of the cars. Then of course there is us - who know the truth - these are totally for Corvairs and are know as Fitch "HandS" wheels! ... Fitch "Sprint" Corvair
FWIW

Below is some more data for those who are interested in this aspect of automotive history.

McAfee Wheels ... http://www.jackmcafee.com/7.html

And a summary found via Google search regarding the Tiger LAT 70 wheel:

The Fitch HandS wheels, were used mostly as the LAT 70-numbered US Rootes dealer-installed option for Sunbeam Tigers. One of the prominent Tiger restorers researched the source of the wheel. As far as he could determine, the original manufacturer was a company called H and S Metal Products of East Los Angeles. The original wheels were made of Magnesium and the later made of Aluminum. The first logo molded on back inside of wheels was a football-shaped oval with the word HANDS inside it. This company merged with a foundry to become Electronic Specialties of Glendale and Pomona(where the forging of wheels took place). You'll notice that the concept 1963 Mustang II prototype ( the model leading to the 1965 Mustang) wore a set of these. At this point, the wheels were labelled on the inside HANDS ENGINEERING, LOS ANGELES. PATENT APPLIED FOR. HANDS ENGINEERING was turned over to Gordon Schoeder 1965-1966, and he and a friend spent more time adapting this wheel to fit multiple models of cars. At this point, a new label was used on this wheel, now SRC, which the Tiger restorer thinks stood for Schroeder Race Cars. It was about 1966 when Rootes got serious about offering this wheel in the US as an authorized accessory.

HANDS & McAfee offered design has the raised center "snout" for mounting spinner center caps.
The "Clones" were made by Western "SPORT", Dan Gurney Ind. "VICTORY" Mag GT, American Racing Equipment, "AR G.T." and Rocket Wheels "MONACO" with push-in center cap and P/S Per Spec Industries "GT" with the screw in center cap.

I've seen those all the way across the country, in Seattle, back in the '80's to early '90's. I'm guessing those are the VW 4x130 pattern? (the ones I saw where) I think they are very cool looking wheels. If I was running a 4x130 wheel pattern VW wheel I would be seeking those out. Thank you for reminding me about them!

I read on here once, that these wheels are really lite. Is that true? And how lite?
