Where is the best place to buy window rubber and felt .I'am replacing all of the window rubber, and all of the door felt and scapers. How is MAMW? It seems they have three levels of quality. One is German, one is restroration quality, and one is street.I tried to call to ask about the different levels of quality,i wanted to talk to a tech person, but all i could get was a salesman.
Thanks

Wolfsburg West has just about every part you'll need, but watch out for the inside scrapers. I purchased new scrapers for my '69 and the clips didn't line up properly. I had to modify them to fit my windows properly. It took a bit, but I got them installed. I had previously purchased inside scrapers from MAMW and they were the exact same misalignments. I'm starting to think they all are.

THANK YOU! I just got back into VW's and was sorely dissapointed with MidAmericaMotorworks. It has no resemblence to Rocky Mountain M W...which I used to be able to use for some stuff, back in the day.

I haven't dealt with MAM, but did do business with Rocky Mountain several times. I also really liked that RM used VW part numbers, no issues there.

add westcoast metric to the above companies. between them all you can get all the rubber bits and pieces that you need. all will be of great quality.

I just installed a set of "rubbers" on my popout windows that came from West Coast Metric and I was very pleased with the quality and fit.

Another thumbs for West Coast Metric. Them and Wolfsburg West are the only two places I'd shop for rubber.

ditto on that one Glenn, I understand they had Tweaks at one time but not anymore? It is hit and miss on MAMW stuff, some OK,some not.

X500! Glad to see I'm not the only one who feels that way. It irks me when I see folks send newbies there. Same w/ CIP1.
If you want to pay the most and wait the longest for delivery, ya can't beat those two!

I'm in agreement as well. Back when it was RMMW, I went to their store in Woodland Park a few times to buy from them, as well as mail-order. I liked their parts, service and catalog. Now that its MAMW, I think their prices are steep, I don't care at all for their part number system or their website. I don't deal with them at all. I use WW, Busdepot and CIP for my online catalog purchases now. I also got my start at doing the online-VW-forum thing via the RMMW message board. Which got shut down a bit after it got bought out RealSource (midamerica).

I bought the German window/door kit from WW and had no problems with the inner or outer scraper fitting as it should.

Actually the Corvette guys don't think much of them any more either. The consensus is they sell more clothing and coffee mugs than parts.

I have found them to be Ok. I have used them when CIP1 and WW are out of stock on an item and they have it.

Like anyone else, it all depends on what you're looking to buy. Shoot, I even still shop at JC Whitney for stuff like floor mats, cup holders, air freshners, etc. If I need good quality for a specific part, I look a little further.
