I know that a metal line that goes higher than the carb before it attaches to the carb is the way to go.The question is,do both need it? And,which is which?

Both of mine are higher. If you don't have the metal tube, it's not critical. At least one of the tubes can be clipped to one of the front oil bath clips without pinching it. I'm not at home so I can't tell you which goes where. If no one chimes in by the time I get home, I'll check it out.

Get an SVDA for the 34 - DO a search and see how many found this to work really well - flat spot goes away and teh car just runs better. Had an 009 too, then switched - night and day.
