What happened around here? Everyone used to just jump all over you for even mentioning a type 1 beam in a type 3. I myself am in the process of doing it now. Got the beam built just have to finish it. I would probably fall under the whole moonlighting catergory |

I appreciate any and all input so far. I was still hoping that someone had pictures of the actual T1 bulkhead on the T3 beam and personal experience stories. I am not against putting a T1 style Beam on the T3 Pan, but I am still research'n. It will have shocks, I am not looking for a "Tucked" car. I can't see weigh being an issue. the T1 and T3 are so close for specs. What about a Frid? Don't they run a Type 1 Ball joint beam? I would imagine that would be load rated higher than a T3, but I honestly don't know. |

i just built a 3 inch beam with shocks so not much of a tuck but you still get the turning ballance and being low with out being to tuck looking...and im sure most people know ive been building beams now for about a year or so and been doing well.....but i do have a buisness license and also if they are not happy with what i send then all they have to do is contact me and we will figure something out for that person wether it be refund or another beam or just a slight fix on the one they have..... _________________

Im not knocking T1 beams in Type3's... Im knocking T1 panhead.
Im building a notch with a 6" beam as we speak. _________________ • Metal Fab & Quality Suspensions, Type I-II-III. Since 2004 • |

joking yes i guess......
take 2 skilled welders........give them both a bug ant a t-3
tell one of them to put a bug bulkhead on the type 3
tell the other to put the t-3 on the bug chassis
what do you have JUNKWARS!!!!
call me crazy but it seems like both of these options would take ABOUT the same time and effort.
now which idea seems more lame to you.........uhhh how bout bof a dem
f- the t- bulk head and make a tube chassis with that amout of fab to make it right your half way there use your brain not cocaine

Seems to me like *you* are the one using cocaine. Is there any way you can repost what you said using actual words, grammar, and sentence structure? _________________ West Virginia State Board of Education v. Barnette, 319 U.S. 624 (1943) |

you will never get a 8 inch beam under a type3 with out alot of hogging out the inner wheel wells...and also you will have to cut into the body suport there in the curve...and the original type frame horns/mounts all together...a 6 inch beam hits the inside hard when you turn.....but hack away....good luck.....i think a 6 or 5 is most you want....8 will look to tri-cycle _________________

Just like he said.
Really a 6" beam is TOO much for a Type three, unless you just like mecha-tuck or are gonna run big/wide wheels.
You are gonna have to do alot of surgery to the front clip of the body! _________________ • Metal Fab & Quality Suspensions, Type I-II-III. Since 2004 • |

That is what I was looking for, different ideas on actual t1 bulkheads mated to a t3 pan. thanks, that helps and I look forward to seeing more. I know there are few up north converted.

Looks like you overlayed about 12 inches of the t1 tunnel onto the t3 tunnel, and cut the front body hump mount out and replaced it. Next the t3 arms come off and weld. _________________ Patrick Friel....2manytoys not enough time. |

Dude, your getting a bit to upset about something that doesnt even belong to you....The guy asked for pics and info, not to be bashed about what it looks like, or how safe it is....Its his car, he can do what he likes! Personally if your gonna do a t1 beam, I would use the type 3 frame horns, cause even if you cut the lower mount off, you can always reweld it on later, if you wanna go back to stock, where as doing the whole transplant, it will be just as hard....But Major respect for tying it.....

it seems more sensible to use the t-3 frame head, if someone must do this. and try to make a t-1 style beam from scratch
major respect for trying it? why? just to be nice? i think its nicer to try to save him the trouble. .02 _________________ dcdubs/glcustoms
