| I've got a 74 w/dual weber 34 ICT's. Tailpipe stays black, exhaust smells very rich, it gets poor mileage (about 15 mpg) at 55mph... I've put smaller idle jets in and it runs great (but still rich)..do I need to change the main jets? |

| Install new or clean plugs and go out on the freeway for a decent cruise, take your tools and pull over some where and shut it off real fast (no slow driving or long idle geting off) and get a bite or a beverage and when it cools pull the plugs and look, if they are black after a high speed run they will get even worse in traffic/ city driving and you should jet down in small increments if you can obtain the different jets.. |
