Years ago, the very first R/C kit I built
was the Tamiya 959...
Still have it (with a mint spare body, decals & misc. parts
bags) and some day it will get re-built. It's an awesome
kit but I can remember the high degree of difficulty it posed
for a novice back then.
After that, it was pan cars in both 12th scale and 10th scale
with Parma and Associated being my choices. _________________ ****************************

I have a Turbo Optima somewhere around the house. Fast as hell and 4 wheel drive. I had modified it with a belt drive and bearings and some other stuff I can't recall anymore.
I started out with the Blackfoot shown in a previous post. Sold that to my brother-in-law.
Damn, that's been like 20 years ago.

I had a bunch of old Hornets when I first started racing. Great cars! The only problem I had with them were the spider gear differential. They were a bit weak and had a tendancy to split. My uncle has the original Frog. Another great frame with the same weakness. |

I was an RC10 guy back in the day. That gold anodized chassis dominated the local scene. The Losi's tried, but couldn't touch us.
Then the "stealth" transmission came out, oooooooooh, aaaaaaaah... lol _________________ Eric Allred

I've had over 10 grasshoppers and hornets(gone to ebay heaven recently), still have one hornet w/ aluminum shock upgrade kit, and a grasshopper with a crazy aluminum shock tower on the front. I also have a reproduction Frog, a Traxxas Stampede, a Tamiya Mini(fast as all hell), an HPI RS4 MT, and I just won an auction for a Losi XX CR. I've had tons of others, but they fell victim to ebay...I sold an upgraded blackfoot with no electronics for 210$
Keep on R/Cing... _________________ '66 SO-42
