I towed this '52 Rod & Reel trailer from Fullerton to the Classic at Irvine Meadows in 2002 with my 1962 DC. It has a 1500 stock everything engine with a big nut('67) trans with reduction boxes. The trailer is about 15' in length but I do not know how much it weighs. The trailer has brakes on it, but I did not hook up a brake controller, so all braking was done by the DC . The trailer hitch is an original Westfalia hitch. You can see it in the second photo. A white knuckle ride for sure. Surface streets all the way. Not sure what I was thinking. LOL
This is by far the heaviest thing I've tried to move with a VW.

I did not know they made a 200. I thought there were only 350's and 400's. Interesting. |

Any close up pics of those gate latches and hinges that move so the gate can swing open like that? This makes me want to build a platform like that. Haha. So cool!! |

Not my heaviest load but definitely the most fun. |
Some day I want to build one of those. Might you have any detailed photos of yours? Is it an original or a reproduction? |

Checking out the thread again- i could have sworn I saw a pic of someone carrying a full sized bridgeport in their SC but a lot of the photos are down :/ |
That would be way over the 1 ton weight limit for a single cab, almost twice. |
Am I being obtuse when I ask, "What the heck is a bridgeport?" |
Good question. It's a big milling machine for metal. Great for making parts. |
