That is one great link. I particularly appreciate GW's advice on the torque value of 96 inch-lbs., the 7mm flat washer under the wavy washer, and the stud fix if the shaft were to break.
Invaluable, Thanks, GW and Jim909!!! _________________ ‘84 Westy, 2.1L with Digijet, 5.43 R+P, GT Gears

7 inches in central North Carolina last night. My front end rebuild will have to wait until things warm up a bit. The forecast calls for temps in the 60s next week.

We got a bit less in central Virginia, and this was taken this morning before the rest fell. Need to try the newish Achilles Multivan tires in the snow.

Snow is starting to pile up but it runs well in this weather. Minus 20 C today.

I refuse to post a pic of the van with snow in my driveway.
This was after getting to work and seeing a purdy new awd suv high centered 2 feet in the air on a big rock!
The van did well being 2wd with continental stock tires. Hardest part was getting traction after making a full stop.

Snow trials with all new suspension, shocks, wheels and tires. Lovely vehicles really. Worth the effort.

The snow here in Bend has been substantial this year, and so the van has been parked for a lot of it in a covered garage. However, in the last couple weeks things have subsided and I've been driving it on the weekend.
Today the roads were so clear up to the mountain that I drove it up to a local snow park to do some looking around. While it's not actually covered in snow, it was surrounded by it.
