My accelerator cable snapped earlier today. I was not able to rig it, but I used an accelerator cable from my 74. It worked out pretty darn well. I just had to cut off the tab that attaches to the throttle body. It was too thick to go into the tube. Just a FYI for you all. When your in a pinch and a baywindow is around. _________________ 86 bostig SYNCRO

Home depot sells 1/16th inch aircraft cable by the foot too. A length of that and some crimp ons would suffice to get you by for a while too. |

Mine broke pulling to a Deli to get lunch last month. Thankfully I had made a prior Ebay purchase of a new one that someone had but never used. In a pinch to get around one can tie a clothesline to the throttle, run it out the engine cover and up to the drivers armrest. Tie it off to the armrest and you can use it like a boat throttle, push it forward(down) to accelerate, and back(up) to deccelerate. It can be tricky with a manual transmission going around corners and at shift points but will get you home. _________________ AK_Runner
