Lotus White L 282 is actually the original color for your bus. L90 or Pastel White was not offered until the next year.

I like white because of the lack of A/C.

I'll probably do white on top with sky blue on the bottom when I repaint though.

I painted my old bus a volvo color - berkshire green below the windows, and savanah beige on top.

it was beautiful, and I am so tempted to do my 71 in the same way... i dont think i can bring myself to do it though... Rolling Eyes

All 3 of my westys were L90D Pastel White, so I guess I have to say it's my favourite Smile

Although my two best buses have been MarinoGelb, I am partial to the Pastel White. The MarinoGelb (school bus yellow/orange) and the Sage Green of the mid-70s I really do not like much ,for some reason.

The main reason for keeping them, aside from it just being the original color, is for safety. Nothing jumps out at you from the road like an orange bus!

I do remember driving through a blizzard in Wyoming in a white Westy, and a trucker said to me at a rest stop "I'd hate to be driving a white vehicle through this shit!!!"
