Looking for advice.
I have a Hi Lift - Lift Mate, used to jack up vehicles by their wheels. It doesn't seem to be compatible as is with the CLK wheels.
But using a climbing sling, I can run it through one or two spokes. The sling is rated to 22 kN or about 10 000 lbs. I would use two slings thus making it 20,000 lbs.

Would the CLK wheels withstand lifting the vehicle like this? I wouldn't want to damage the wheels, or have them break while lifting.
Placing behind two spokes is less force on the wheel, but then increases the angle of the sling and then the sling is not as strong.
Using one spoke, has a good angle for sling strength, but more force on one spoke.

What do people think about this?

Is this safe?

Are the wheel’s spikes rounded enough to not worry about cutting the webbing?

How would change a flat tire using the jack that way?

The spokes are pretty smooth and should not cut the sling.

This would only be for lifting a wheel to fill underneath it in recovery situations. I have the GW hi lift adapter for the stock jack location for a tire change.

With the dynamic loading webbing can take, you're fine, you're just static lifting.

The Fuchs rims are forged, so I assume they're stronger than regular cast aluminum rims.

And any thoughts on lifting from One spoke versus Two spokes?

I'm concerned that there may not be enough clearance behind the spokes and in front of the brakes to get the strap through there.

I'd say if you can actually get it through with the wheels on the van, go for it.

What do people think about this?

Think it has limited uses and would see action "maybe" twice in my life time.

I grew up on the beach and never needed anything like that w the exception of the one time my Rabbit got stuck. by the time we got it out the water was up to the windows. Ok so I needed one of these once in 15 years.

Why not use something like this, they work very well, and weigh a LOT less than the high lift Jack's, easy to use, especially in sand or soft ground.

Just be sure to retire that sling from your climbing rack. Shocked

Ya I was going to get new slings for the wheels. That sling in the photo I only use to sort my draws.

As far as the exhaust jack goes...
