Saw a cheesy rom-com recently called "ten inch hero" that featured a late bay owned by a supporting character. There was even a road trip and camp out in the bus. Not a great film. Pretty predictable and missing the "com" part of rom-com. May be worth seeing for the bus or the boobs though.. If that's your thing.

Hi everyone this is my first post here on The Samba. I really enjoy looking for old VWs when watching classic movies, I saw this one last week. The movie was "Wait Until Dark" starring Audrey Hepburn, Alan Arkin and Richard Crenna. In the movie, the three bad guys use a Bus as their HQ. The movie was pretty good too.

The people vs. Oj Simpson episode 2 about 10 minutes in. During the famous white Bronco chase AC and OJ dice it up with a low light pop top until the couple pull their bus over to call the cops.

Early bay prominently featured in SOUTHBOUND - a horror film. Members of an all girl band called the Sirens break down on the side of the road. You know how it ends!

@Zelten, the Finals Girls looks hilarious in cringe worthy way, I will have to watch that at some point.

I just finished re-watching the new X-Men (with Apocalypse) and there were some shots of a yellow bay! 2 shots in particular the bay is quite visible:

1) In the climatic scene, when Beast throws a car at Storm, Psylocke barrel rolls in and cleaves the car in two , saving Storm. Somewhere around this time (either just before or just after) you can see the back half of the yellow bay.

2) Also in the Climax, Apocalypse has Mystique in his hand and the yellow bus is visible in the background.

I also felt there could possibly be a blue-bay in the scenes, although I may be mistaken. Unfortunately, the DVD is not out so I cannot double check for the blue bay, but I highly recommend checking out the movie if you have not seen it! (Take a friend with you who is familiar with the previous movies if you have not seen them before to pester with questions).

What happens? Does the Bus get slammed in the end?

I have no interest in boobs unless they are Splits, and Brazilian Splits at that.

Born To Be Blue (2016)
Biographical flick about the jazz musician Chet Baker starring Ethan Hawke.

Harry and Tonto, Art Carney's 1974 Oscar-winning performance.
Plus, it has a cat.

Splitty with top half of a bug welded to it. I thought that this was just the coolest way to make a high-top.

And yeah, regarding the prevalence of VWs in shows from the '70s, it's hard to remember that they really were everywhere back then. The movies weren't over-representing the VW presence at all.

Season 2 of the excellent British comedy 'Detectorists' is on Netflix (in Canada, anyway). This Westy is in almost every episode. If you like quirky comedy, this is not to be missed.

It's available on Netflix in the USA, too ... and agree it's an excellent show!

Yup, Detectorists is a fun show. Season 2 is also available on Netflix in the US.
Pity that the driver of the Westy is such an arrogant German dick. And I think the valves need adjusting...

"Weekend of Terror" with Lee Majors and Robert Conrad.
Summary: Three nuns on a weekend trip are held hostage by escaped convicts. Only its dumber than that. Click on that link. . Its only 1 hour and 13 minutes! I dare you.

I did screen cap this fantastic image of Lee Majors driving that westy... Xevin probably needs a new avatar image, no? Cool
