Allow me to be naive and ask what exactly are the warning signs here? If I was looking (which I am not) an ad like this would certainly attract my attention. There is obviously something about this one that raised a flag. Can you elaborate? _________________ -- 1987 Westfalia automatic (Captain Vino) |

The big one is the foam, where the engine seal should be, it looks like it was bady glued in, at first I thought it was a baywindow seal but I'm not sure, you need the correct seal to seal the compartment, let that heat up and you'll drop a seat. A baywindow foam seal is about 40.00 a vanagon seal is $140.00.
The hose coming off the aux air regulator is just a long hose twisted to fit, the little elbow that's supposed to go there is 5.00 and not hard to get.
and whats with the the spark plug end in the top left corner.
It looks like it was just thrown together to sell, then the new owner gets to deal with it.

That must be one of those new 5 cylinder engines we've heard so much about. You are right, it is the picture that tell the story, not the story. _________________ -- 1987 Westfalia automatic (Captain Vino) |
