|
|
I just swapped out my old hinges for a set of the mirror mount ones and found an OK plug for the door holes but would like something a little more pleasing to the eye. any suggestions? It almost looks like the wiper arm cap would fit but something a little more flat would be better. _________________ Your Vanagon sucks, Stop waving at me.

The PO of my THING had the mirrors stolen. He welded up the holes and screwed on crappy AutoZone universal mirrors on the doors . The first thing I did was to pick up the stainless hinges from TTS and refit with the original mirrors. Now, I'm not suggesting you weld the holes in...but if you want it to be pemanent... I still need to weld up the huge holes left from the PO in my doors...

Go to McMaster.com and type "finishing plugs" into the FIND PRODUCTS search field. Several to choose from there.

Thanks. My local hardware store has those as well but i'm looking for some one who has used something in particular. I bought a pluig and it fits but it goes in the hole and isn't flush with the door. _________________ Your Vanagon sucks, Stop waving at me.

The Acapulco model came with the mirror holes plugged. The mirrors were mounted on the front supports of the surrey top. The plug was plastic and fit flush with the body. It looks like the second plug in the captains pic. |
