Looks good and quite an approach to removal. Removing the castle nut from a Bus is worse using a sawzall (believe me, I've done it). I have found, when using heat, that a shot of PBlaster used on the threads afterwards works great to quickly lubricate. At first it will vaporize as it cools, so continue until the threads are saturated.

Nice work( not damaging the axle/threads), I have used both methods before but the pipe wrench I use is a size smaller... that's a big one for sure.

Still kinda surprised you could not get it to "bite" Confused
