Make sure that the cap is vented. _________________ Don't worry; be happy. (Baba) |

Anyone got a nice German cap? I've been using an oil cap with a cut cork gasket so it will vent for years. Haven't ever been able to get a decent cap. _________________ All your Buses are belong to us.

Though not German, a Stant 10623 stainless vented or a Fram RG23 7195514 zinc vented are exact bus gascaps. |

Bottom Right is definately the original one. Polish it up and use it. _________________ Wanted: Old Martin or Gibson Guitars |

I dont think thats right, I just ordered both from NAPA, the Fram # crosses to Stant 11623 and the Stant 11623 says for use on 10623 applications, but neither is a vented cap. Maybe they superceed incorrectly. |

Dunno. I'm currently using both types and they are vented and work perfect. Once upon a time they were even an off the shelf US replacement. 10623 is vented and the prettiest. |

Nope you are right, looks like 10623 is superceeded to the 11623. I just put it on a radiator cap tester, and it is vented. Also had em send a Balkamp (NAPA) cap # 703-1220 over and it looks identical, and is vented as well. I will look for a OG cap but these will do for now for 5.00.
Thanks for the part #`s |

Actually, all way back to September of '52 - my dual glovebox split, built 9/52 has that cap. _________________ -Thom

I bought a little one gallon tank from Boyd Welding and it included this cap.
The inside is perfect as well as the gasket being interchageable with OG VW caps.
It has this exquisite method of anti-slosh and in-out vent. Inside is a
gravity/inertia poppet valve.
Boyd Welding wouldn't divulge who their supplier was but they sell the cap
sku#27017. http://www.fueltankparts.com/twist-cap-w-aluminum-neck-vented.html
This gas cap is absolutely perfect. |

I started collecting gas caps and need info...mainly for 55 - 67...
What is the difference between PATENT BLAU and LICENZ BLAU?
From gallery:
And
What about P. A. G. LICENZ BLAU. I have assumptions but didn't want to post them. |
