My 72 camper was running very well. I havent driven it much, but the times I have driven it it started and ran very well. Now, when I start it, it starts up great, idles somewhat good, then it starts to sputter about a minute later and then dies. I cant even feather the throttle to keep it running. What could be my problem? Thank you very much.

we need more information, how soon after the start and idle does it die? when was the last time it was running well? What have you done to it since then? You may have a vacuum leak, your fuel pump may not be able to keep up with the demand, Your choke may be stuck. More information would be appreciated.

It starts and runs fine for about a minute. It has an electric fuel pump that I am pretty sure is working well. I dont think the choke is stuck because it was working well the last time I drove it. It was running well about 3 weeks ago, then I parked it, and now it is doing this. Thanks for the help everyone.

What does your fuel filter look like?

Maybe water in the gas tank? Has it been raining since you parked it? If it has put some HEET in it and try it out.

I just changed my fuel filter right before I parked it. It seems to be a little dirty, but nothing extraordinary.

considering that it is running for up to a minute before it dies do check the choke, if it is electric, make sure it is getting current. check to see if it is opening up. If it is idling smoothly before it dies, we can most likely rule out vacuum leak. if your fuel filter is after your fuel pump, look to see if it maintains fuel in the filter, assuming you have a clear filter. some filters if placed in backward can limit the flow, you may have a blockage in your fuel line. If it is running smoothly for up to a minute then dying, check the choke.

I had a similar problem resolved by replacing the fuel pump?
