I have a 77 Westy w/ no heat. I've heard of people using propane to heat their buses. Several questions. Was this a Westy option or aftermarket. How does it work? Is it safe? Where does the tank go? That will do for now.

Propane stinks get a gas heater. Take it from those of us who have tried to go that route. How much heat do you need? In other words how cold does it get and for how long where you live? This will determine your best options.

Would this be for heat while the engine is not running? If so I have heard great things about Propex heaters. They are from the UK and run off of propane. They are very small and efficient units. I have also heard that they put out great heat. Check out this guys site for a review of them. http://216.239.37.100/search?q=cache:tL5GadBifI0C:...p;ie=UTF-8

I read in VolksWorld that Propex are the only in-car heaters sold in the UK that are certified to be run without the car moving.

I live in NE Ohio. Winter lasted through March this year and April has been all over the place. Usually is off and on cold starting in October. So it is cold roughly half the year. (Maybe moving would be the best solution?!) I bought my Westy w/ no heat at all; no duct work, no heat exchangers. I would need to have heat while mobile as well as while the engine is off. How difficult are any of these options to install. Obviously I would have to install the duct work but beyond that?
