I have a 71 bus. I was driving home today and pressed the clutch in to shift to third, hear a loud sound, and my clutch pedal falls to the floor and i can't shift. Do i need a new clutch or transmission or what? Please let me know! thanks!

Well the first thing I would check is the clutch cable......that's what it sounds like to me.

On our old 65 we were pulling out of the parking lot and the same sound and clutch to the floor.Turned out the arm the release bearing had snapped. So we installed a new one, which I put extra welds on, with a clutch also.

Yep Me too. I had to slam shift about 10 miles back home. At lights I shut it off and put it in first. when the light changed, I used the starter to get going. It good that I had a strong battery. If your clutch pedal hook is broken, I have a 71 with a good donor one. -Jeremy
