Elizabeth,
I checked the numbers on my bus which is a 70 as well and the numbers are the same as yours.(411-937-505A) I would stick with the same year fuse block and yes they do have the relays attached to the bottom of them. Hope this helps. Anthony

Elizabeth, I talked to the guy and he recommends upgrading to a 71 bus box since all the 1970 model stuff is only a one year deal. Like the headlight relay and the flasher are only for that year. If you upgrade to a 71 fusebox then those headlight relays can be interchanged with any type and are readily available and the 71 fuseblock comes with the 3 pin flasher and the the fuse block is made of better plastic that won't break as easily. He has the block for $15 and the relay and flasher are around $8-10 a piece. So i guess your earlier answer to your question is yes you can upgrade!! Let me know I am going there tomorrow to pick up a few things, it is small enough to ship up there. You can email me and let me know.

The early 70 A fuse box was yellow and spilt down the middle. VW got smart and made the later ones out of better material, same as 71 and up. Look for the white one. I have one, complete, if you want it. Pmail me at aufever@prodigy,net

Forgot to mention, yes the A is 70 only, But 71 is B and 72 is C. Each one is one year only. [and D is 73 411 and E is 74 412....]

Try Busted Bus: http://bustedbus.com/ They've been very good at finding odd parts for me.

I had luck running a wanted ad a few months back. Also, when guys part out a 1970 ask them if they have it. Be sure to get the newer type plastic. The part number is the same. Being a Type IV part number you may have luck in that ad section too.

I have a 1970 early with the Yellow fuse box.

My fuse box has NO relays at all just wires....

can someone please tell me the relays that I need to be connected there or any other place?

I know is supposed to be the Frond lights and turn signals...

any parts numbers to check to buy?

Thank you!!!

I changed out my 70 fusebox for a 71 years back and everything seems to work fine. Meanwhile I came across a 70 fusebox (the newer white one). Just asking opinions here should I hang onto it? Or should I sell it and for how much. Just kind of seeking advice. Question

the last clean 70 fuse box I sold I got 200 for about 2 years ago.

my rule of thumb:

if I have a 1 year only car and I have spare 1 year only parts, I keep all the parts until I sell the car
