Hey everyone! I’ve got an 84 Vanagon and I’m struggling to get the sliding door hinge to reach the latch, it won’t even clear the door seal.

I’ve tried adjusting the hinge and “pulling” it out as much as possible to get more length but that doesn’t do the trick.. any insight?

Thanks!

Check that the plastic guide for the outer track is still there, it's attached to the tail end of the U part that has rollers on it.

Then check that the bottom bracket didn't come loose, causing the door to sink.

It’s a brand new seal I just bought from gowesty so it may just need to be “used” a bit OR it might not be fully seated. I don’t think the seal is the issue thought. If I move the seal over and get the hinge to pass it, it still won’t reach the latch.
