| if i buy a 1776 turnkey for my bus that is complete from clutch to exhuast, how much should it cost to have it installed, i think it should be fairly easy but the local vw shop is saying $500-$700 and i thought that sounded pretty high. |

$700 is a bit on the high side, but $500 is not unreasonable.
You use gravy instead of oil in dat dere Turkey engine? :-)
