Here's another one Clara. I've always like this bus. It's been for sale a long time. Definitely a unique westy that deserves a full resto IMO.

Although not original, this one has a nice look to it.

[ I would love to see quality photos the blue/green flipseat pattern seen the brochure as well as the pattern that has blue and pink and yellow colors (I believe these to be two different patterns, I might be wrong)
[img][/img]
I placed a few fotos in the Gallery (some of them detailed) of one of these greenish Westfalia Flipseat seat materials. Those pieces came -if I remember well- out of a green-white ´62 so34.

(I saw it in a westfalia trailer.)

Here is some weird stuff. It is in the walkthrough so23, and i belive that it is a one of a kind material. I would love to hear from someone else if they have seen it in another bus. It is different from the normal red interior that has been commonly seen. This is a "tougher" material, with alot of green threads. Most pics of this bus that have been posted before are from a distance, so you cant see the green. Hopefully they are visible in these close ups. The other red interior busses have a courderoy style material that doesn't hold up very well. I know Bastardbus has some pics in his hard drive??

Anyway, there is one pic that is inside the storage compartment under the shotglasses. That piece shows what the fabric is like from the fabric manufacturer, I think it is at the edge of the roll. My guess is that it was placed there by westfalia, some left over stuff. It shows the content of the green threads. Also, has anyone else seen this piece in this compartment on any other busses???

Cool fabric Drew. I don't think I've seen that stuff before. They call that the salvage edge. It's made like that so the edges don't fray.

My 62 so33 had fabric just like that in it, except it was orange with green threads (faded perhaps? I cant remember now). Here is a pic I had on my server, i can post a better shot of it in a few days when I repair my harddrive crash. Assuming of course I have backups of those pictures ....

It didn't have the fabric anywhere else like the red stuff above, but it does have walkthru style rubber mat down under the rear pedastal.

Below is a late `61 so-23 material Drew spoke of above.
I have seen this in Red-Black (pictured) as well as Blue-Black for dove blue `61 in Florida. This is supposed to be a material used frequently in Westfalia Caravans (trailer campers) and I have seen a couple pictures verfying this. This is what I initially thought Drew had in his...but it is obviously not the same material...not even close. Here is a set of OG pillows from my old `61 so-23.

Here is a photo of an interior I did a few years back. In my opinion it was pretty darn close to the og fabric in the brochure. Didn't have the rose color in it. Oddly enough the original upholstery in this bus was a dark green vinyl.

Ok let's see photos of a factory brochure with that material or 2 other buses with the identical vinyl material with up close photos.

I think we will be waiting for a very VERY long time Wink

Yep that stuff is a god-awful color IMO, but it sure lasts. My '66s Z-bed is in surprisingly great shape and has held together well.

Looking for pics of the original upolstery (color and pattern) that would have come in a 1960 DOVE BLUE SO 23 Westy, or even a sample Rolling Eyes
