|

Where do I find terminal 15 from the coil on this 1970 only 411937505A fusebox (US import)?? Can anyone point out the right fuse?
And how do I get the fuse box off the "wall"? It doesn't seem to be screwed on

Fuses 3-5 are linked to terminal #15. So the connecting buss should be on the back of those fuses. The two screws holding the black bracket (one visible in your picture) will drop the fuse box assembly once you've disconnected the battery.

Ok, cheers. So the brackets have to be removed. I thought the fuse box might be clicked iin.
Where does the wire from the coil land on the fuse box? Is it the third on the left at the bottom of the box?? _________________ Westfalia Helsinki 6/77

And what colour does it have? Is it black like the diagram suggests? _________________ Westfalia Helsinki 6/77

It's black if VW put it there, if a PO's been messing around who knows.
The fuse box lifts straight up out of the brackets, disconnect the battery first! _________________ Rust NEVER sleeps and stock never goes out of style.

The ignition wire can be connected anywhere on the supply bus for fuses 3,4,&5, it doesn't matter where. There should be a vacant connector there,
unless some P.O. has bollixed things up. Disconnect the battery first. _________________ '67 bug: seized by the authorities

Ok, I chicken out, 2 Cognac didnīt help, I canīt get myself to remove the fuse box. I pushed it up and released it from the bracket, but there is not enough space for comfort and I donīt want to jerk it out - too scary. I try to locate the wire from the coil behind the kickpanel instead. Could the thick black one on the picture be the wire 15 from the rear harness (presumed that no PO has ever fiddled with it)?? It is travelling together with a red and a black/red wire... It has power, when the ignition is on and no power without...?

Sadly no, that's the power to the brake light switches. The coil wire is in that fatter harness next to it. _________________ Rust NEVER sleeps and stock never goes out of style.

Well, it is the coil wire. Not textbook style, but it works ...
