I have a 65 that I build a stock 1600 SP for, converted to 12V. 200 mm clutsh. My problem is the clutch adjustment is good when the engine is cold and as it warms up it starts grabing nearer to the floo. When it is hot you can't get it into reverse, just grinds. What could be changing?
Thanks Question Question

Are you sure this problem is temperature related? When it cools down, does the pedal return to normal? Or is it OK until it gets hot and then you need to re-adjust the cable?

If you are having to re-adjust the cable, you may have a pedal hook that is getting ready to break. Or a clutch cable that is beginning to fray. Or a bad bowden tube. Or the steel tube in the chassis is no longer connected at the rear of the car because rust has taken over. Or worse yet, the steel line in the tunnel has broken one or more of its welds inside the tunnel.

If re-adjusting is the temporary fix, you better pull the pedals and cable and have a look at whats going on. If it's the hook, or the cable fraying, you arn't going to go much farther before it breaks completely..

It seems to be temp related . When the car cools down the next morning it is fine all over again. I never readjust the cable.
