sway bar

is the sway bar a origanl part or add on upgrade ?

They came with the bus when new. I don't know why but some of them snap. Probably working too hard. You need to have it.

Usually the aftermarket ones are a little bit bigger. I want to say about 7/8" in diameter.

but so many people talk about putting a sway bar on their bus as if they never had one
it started to confuse me

G'day vw76westy,
on my 76 Micro it had a 16mm sway bay up front with nothing on the rear, I upgraded to a 22mm up front with a 20mm on the rear , both ends with nolathene bushes , together with KONI shocks a huge difference when cornering .
