If anyone is interested, i have an extra wire cover for a RHD out of a 56/57 and an extra usable left side front floor mat. |

Yes, the molds are made for the front floor mats. We are messing around with the firewall mat at the moment, it's taking longer than expected but really isn't a big deal. I got an NOS one to model after (that's what delayed the process).
I think the approval samples should be done soon. Once the firewall mat is dialed in, the mats will be done pretty quickly so everyone get ready. I'll need everyone's help spreading the word once they are done to get out from under the cost as quickly as possible.
I've been a little quiet because I don't have anything ready yet, but when they are ready I'll update everyone in this forum first then I'll post some ads after everyone here gets a set _________________ Even my nuts are plated.....

I knew eventually this would come up! I literally got this pretty much ready to roll, but with the economy the way it is I got nervous about investing so much money. It's a big investment and without enough interest, or even prepaid orders it's a lot of risk to take.
If we can get around 20 sets presold I would feel a lot more comfortable, because about 40% of the investment would be covered...
The pricing right now would be about $250 per set of 5 mats, 2 front, 2 rear and the firewall mat. You would only need to make up a tunnel mat from a LHD version, which is the easy part of the mats.
The quality and rubber is EXACTLY like the LHD repro mats being offered today, so the only difference is the RHD pattern. The front mats and firewall mat are patterned after original Australian mats, so there won't be any issues.
Let's find out how many sets I can count on and maybe we can get this rolling again. _________________ Even my nuts are plated.....

Did the mat design change for the later RHD year cars?

Yes, but not by much. I think these mats while being perfect for 56-57 cars, will work with minor cutting on 56-61 cars. The only difference is they need a bigger pedal cluster opening. So minor trimming will be necessary.
Also, I can only afford to run black rubber at this time, apparently there were grey mats in 58-61... but it's too much to tackle to run different colors at this point. _________________ Even my nuts are plated.....

Hi Eric,
I'll take 2 sets.
I also think that you should consider taking substantial deposits. On another forum I used to frequent, too often people put their hand up and commit to an order, but seem to go quiet when payment is needed.
Might also be worth setting up a for sale ad here on TheSamba.

OK, there are 12 sets on this thread so far (not including the '54 request as they are not technically correct).
We need 8 more sets commited to then I will proceed. I think I am going to ask for a $50 deposit via paypal from each of the 20 sets just so I know for sure they will follow through as suggested. I'll post it here that if anyone isn't happy when they get them I'll refund your money... but I'm sure everyone will be
I'll PM everyone in the thread so far to be sure they are in. Please spread the word and let's get the final eight. Sorry to do it this way but truly, the costs are high to get these done and I'm not in it to invest a bunch of money and sit on a minimum run of mats, I need a set for my car too. And once they are gone, I won't be doing this again believe me. I have a day job _________________ Even my nuts are plated.....

Guys, I want to apologize to the moderators for walking the edge here on selling something in the forums....
But considering why I am doing it I hope everyone is cool with it. RHD mats have never been repro'd and we all need them so I'm trying to make it happen. That's it...
I just placed an ad, so maybe let's take it up in the classifieds from here... Here's the ad...
