I was thinking about painting my 73 thing the classic flat black of a Rat Rod, but I was wondering if one has seen one what they thought of it?

Thanks

I often think of a "Rat Rod" bug as being lowered with oversized tires without fenders painted in flat colors. A "Rat Rod" thing is often imagined as a beat-up industrial look. A military hood ride if you will.

I think it's a cool look - it's not common. Here's another from that same site:

Thanks guys. I appreciate the links and pics.

I am trying to figure out what color to do my thing in.

I have a few custom touches, like the tail lights, gas cap delete, and lowered suspension.

I was going to go with a Metalic black paint but i dont want it to look purple.

So I was thinking about going with a flat paint look, but have not gotten a good response.

I may start to look at come custom color.

Any thoughts???

One of my favorite 181's. Be unique. I ended up with an Orange one but it it isn't my favorite color choice. (and it's glossy too Confused )

I don't have a clue about the wheels. Occasionally you do see them in the Sambas classifieds.

Vehicle condition can be specified as follows:
1 - Excellent - A close to perfect original or a very well restored vehicle. Generally a body-off restoration, but a well done body-on restoration that has been fully detailed may qualify. The vehicle is stunning to look at and any flaws are trivial and not readily apparent. Everything works as new. All equipment is original, NOS, or excellent quality reproductions.

Totally.

Common internet etiquette is to post a picture of what you have at home so that we can compare and verify your statement.

In MD black might work, you would fry down here in a black thing... If mine was not orange on the inside I think I would have painted it a different color, but orange is what its going to be.
