This looks like a later Convertible though? |
I was under the impression that those bumpers first appeared for the 1968 model year. |
That bug is definitely early 70's (aka fat chick - look at the hood) |
It's looks like a 1971 super beetle to me. _________________ Contact me at [email protected]

An episode of The Saint, an early 1960s TV show featuring a pre-Bond Roger Moore as a suave and "special" British agent, was on earlier this week. In this episode (which was not identified by TIVO, sorry), he gets into a Squareback taxi (maybe even a Pigalle, no less!), but is then shown riding in an obviously different car, which he then exits. Really poor direction/editing!
Sorry for the blue cast... I couldn't totally get rid of it in Photoshop. The car is actually white.
Cool so far...

I finally got around to seeing Jojo Rabbit recently. I spotted this in the background. Too blurred to see any detail, unfortunately.
From the tyre on the roof I think this is probably the same car.

Was raining hard today, wife and I watched "Valentine's Day" from 2010 on NetFlix. The teenage gal drove a 1968/1969 VW Convertible with low back seats. And the reverse lights did not work.

With his consent I'm showing it again, though I spent a few minutes to enhance it in Photoshop. Image shows James Bond rushing past this oval Beetle while in the Aston Martin DB5, trying to escape Goldfinger's henchmen in the Auric Enterprises plant in Switzerland.
The oval appears to be L331 Horizon Blue, which is a '56 and '57 color. Lack of image sharpness makes it difficult to gauge the height of the taillamps, which seem low like eggs/hearts instead of the snowflake usual height. |
