Is everybody firm on the years these were made?
Reason I wonder is the stretch bus at the wreckers had bulkheads that I thought were a PO hack, but look very much like the wide top SS bulkheads.
The stretch bus was the ill conceived spawn of a 57 Standard and a 58 Kombi, definitely pre 59 as the one VIN dated it to jan 58 and some of the glass was medium sized logo, so I thought 57 for some reason.
I had posted some pics in the abortion thread, but I don't remember if any showed the bulkheads. _________________ The greatest obstacle to discovery is not ignorance, but the illusion of knowledge

so far, swivel seats are known to go from very late 58 (59 model year) to very late 1962 (63 model)
does anyone have a 1963 BUILD year swivel seat bus? _________________ drive your split. |

How many of these buses have the provision for a driver side seat belt and do any (other then my highroof) have the factory provision for a passenger side seat belt? The plugs in the "walk-thru" area are what I'm really interested in seeing. Thanks
I'm digging the SS Kombis, maybe someday I'll have one. |

If the Royal mail SS Kombi is the same as the red interior one you show, then we are still stuck at 8 SS Kombis.

Since this bus, which was just "found" kinda started my attempt at counting SS Kombis, I'll add it here, and call it:
#9

Didn't Grim find one recently that had a bulkhead panel welded in? Has that one been counted? _________________ 58 Coral Red ragtop(Diana's car)

that bus is a panel, and the full bulkhead was just pop riveted in place. Aaron now owns it and drives it.

When was Aaron's Highroof SS built?
I figure its one of the newest Swivelseats, and oldest Highroofs. _________________ Founder and Chairman Emeritus, ECMSAS

Aaron with chime in with the date, but I recall it being sometime in june/july of 1962.
I was just talking to a buddy of mine in norcal who just got a 63 panel (sept or oct of 1962) that is a swivel seat. Its the latest swivel I have personally heard of. _________________ drive your split. |

all swivel seat buses have the swivel bulkheads on both left and right sides. It is extremely uncommon for a bus to have TWO swiveling seats, let alone a stationary passenger seat. 99% chance your kombi only had a drivers seat.
as you can see in this swivel seat kombi, it has two swivel bulkheads, but only one seat and NO provisions for any kind of passenger seat.
Aarons highroof has some kind of mounts on the passenger seat pedestal, but no one has any idea of what could have been mounted there, could have been a seat or some kind of equipment.
