Can some one tell me what the handle on an early Bay jack is supposed to look like. My jack has no handle but uses some type of a socket to turn the mechanism. Was it part of a tool kit? Where can I find one?

yeah, there was a tube and removable crossbar in the VW kit. The tube has a 19mm socket on the end, same as the lugnuts (I have a late bay... assuming the sizes are the same...)
