Does anyone have pics of single cab gas heaters? I was hoping to see some other than what is in the gallery section. I am looking to cram a southwind heater into my single cab. I have seen them under the dash, in the spare tire hole, and in the back. I dont have a spare tire behind my seat so that option is out. I would rather put it in the engine compartment than under the dash. Was this a dealer install? The main thing I am looking for is pics of nice dealer install ducting through the cargo compartment or some cab installs.

thanks,

Here is a pic of the tag on the heater in my 59 SC.

I think it was a dealer install.

That's what I was thinkin'.

My stock heater in my SC keeps me pretty toasty...not much area to heat.

x3
Greg's 66 SC and my Dad's 63 SC both have excellent heat.

My 54 sc has zero zilch nada heat, as the heater tube is hacked out and the roll cage is where the heat tube through the cab should be... so I have toyed with the idea of a gas heater for it.

Is there some reason the stock heat can't work?

I am only here temporarily because I am in the military. A move to Alaska is probably on the horizon and my wife is cold all the time nomatter what. I want to have it ready to go by the time I am up there. It actually does get cold here though, it snowed last year. I am from Florida so that was one of the 2-3 times I have ever seen snow.

But yeah, I want the heat for when I go up there.

There is not a specific engine compartment mounted heater for a Single. You could do it with a bit of fab work.

Here is info on the 2 heaters that will fit a Single. Could also use a Bug Eberspacher heater under the seat and fab up an outlet duct.

Those southwinds never look like they fit that great. The cab model has always freaked me out a little.

The "T" fitting that distributes the warm air looks like it's made for a double cab or Binz?

That's a Bug heater.

The Eberspacher under the seat is in a Binz.

For those who've mounted behind the seat, where or how are you routing the exhaust out of the cab? I lucked into one that's correct for my year single cab, but like other heaters it has an exhaust tip.

What would keep water from shooting up through the heater and rusting it out?
