I'll trade my wet, gravel driveway for your cold garage that you hate working in. |

Gal in avatar says "duh, that way you don't get any grease on your clothes !!!" Same goes for naked painting, can't get paint on your clothes if ya don't got any, but since Rants became prudish I can't post a photo. Maybe I can figure out how to blur it or something (would taking off my glasses while uploading the photo blur it, I'm not too good with computers?) _________________ 1970 VW (owned since 1972) and 1971 VW Convertible (owned since 1976), second owner of each. My wife bought me my latest '73 Super Beetle and she offered $500 less than I was willing to offer. She also bought me my '95 BMW 525i as well. |

My wife complains that riding in the vert messes up her hair. I also had to trade her a baby for the vert. |

I hate all of you! My wife only complains about my hobbies, calls my 72 the money pit, and resents any time / money spent on anything but her. You don't know how lucky you are...... _________________ '72 super baja |

I said that I wanted a project car and that a ACVW would be cheap and simple to work on. She said go for it and let me buy a 66 for $350 with no motor.
Then we saw a 69 for sale and she asked if it would be a good car and I said yes. So she agreed to buy it too. So in less that 45 days, I have 2 "new" bugs!
I am hoping to get her in a photo shoot with the bug this summer. She has not shot that idea down... yet. *fingers crossed* |

I've heard Canadian women can weld! My GF was a Hawaiian Tropics model. Likes JEEPS (has one herself) and wants me to find an old split window bus. I wish I could teach her to weld, and I could just sit back and watch
But I'm still curious 67jason...did you ever get the top of the tin washed? _________________ 1965 Beetle "FireBug"(gone but not forgotten)

Not married yet, but I will say that my Bonnie (69 beetle) likes my girlfriend. She has disliked other girls I've dated; even broke down on the last one three times leaving us to walk!!! New girlfriend and I just took a 200 mile round trip up to ride the tail of the dragon in NC with no problems. Maybe they have an understanding...? _________________ '69 bug (Bonnie)

My wife and I got married in 1964. The same year I started working for the Vw dealers. She has put up with me and the VW's all that time.
A few years ago, she was complaining that in all the years, she has never been able to park her car in the garage in the winter, so she let me build a 30 x 45 shop. And she was supposed to get to put her car in the garage in the winter.
Well, she still has to park outside, because I still have the garage at the house full of "stuff".
She doesnt complain. _________________ Society is like stew. If you don't keep it stirred up, you end up with a lot of scum on the top!--Edward Abbey

I knew I had to marry my wife when she told me that she wanted a VW van for her next vehicle, (she used to have a Civic). She loved my Beetle and really caught the VW "bug" so to say. I bought her the '75 Standard as a wedding gift so we both can have Beetles. She doesn't complain about my cars, car parts in the basement, or all my beer signs all over the house. She is actively encouraging me to spend tons of $$$$ on my Super to finish the restoration before we start a family and thinks my idea of picking up another Super for a daily driver is a great idea. I know you guys are talking about your wives, but I have to brag about my husband. I am the one with the VW addiction. I spend alot of time working on my bug, talking about my bug, spending money on my bug. My husband is a mechanic by trade, he services city fire trucks. I had a slight wiring problem and was reluctant to let him work on my bug since he never had before. I was going to take it to the VW mechanic in a neighboring town. He assured me he could fix my bug. He did (of course) and since then he is my VW mechanic. I buy parts, he puts them on. I have had my bug for 1 year now and my husband still allows me on ebay. What more could I ask for!! _________________ 74 Super Beetle "Ladybug"

My wife hates my bug. She calls it a rattletrap. I don't let her get close to him for the fear that he might roll over her foot. _________________ Stupidity is forever; ignorance can be fixed. |
