Those kind of prices will make swapping to carbs a lot easier, as you can buy a new set of carbs for around the same money. Then just install them, and set'em and forget'em. _________________ Bob 65 Notch S with Sunroof

What I find both frightening and interesting is how some rarities are still reasonable, but items which can be sourced can be unreasonable. Sort of like the prices I see for Type 3 cars in the classifieds. If I were looking.... _________________ Ossipon

A lot of those owners are delusional, we are pretty mild in the type 3 whines. Take any of the type 3's 20K and over 90% are grossly over priced. I wish I could see the email counts for those I'd bet they are pretty low. |

ok, I actually looked. I'll revise that. Of the type 3's in the classifies 20K and over, 100% of them are way over priced |

That would not surprise me one bit. I know I had over 12K into my T-34 resto, and sold it for a little more than that after I drove it out to Colorado and back. I have no idea what I had into my 71 Notch, but then I did so much work on that car I doubt I even broke even. Same with my 65 Notch, as I got it off e-bay, and transporting it from Texas to Michigan was probably equal to what I paid for it, and that was before I started repairing the rust it had. _________________ Bob 65 Notch S with Sunroof

I wish I had put mine on BAT. At the time the wait was a few months, and I probably sold it cheaper than I wanted to just to get it done.

Wild. Moving on to something else or focusing on the Type 34 vert? _________________ 1963 Notchback - Ruby Red

Erik - where is it? Is that the one Eric Hand has now? There was yours and one Russ Cannels had - similar condition? Cant recall where they went.
But yes - Im onto other things. The notch I have is a nice example. Stupid solid and pan off restored. I do need the $ for the vert for sure. Having my amigos here with what Pedro is doing - I need to stay on top of my wants out of the T34 Convertible.
If the notch I want thats bucket list material is available, Ill sell the 77 Westy to get it. Leaving me in retirement stages with a 64 T34 vert and a T3 notchabck of my dreams.
We shall see where it goes. _________________

Yup, I get that Jason, you can't drive more than one at a time either. Add in the cost of insurance, and you really have to decide your priorities. _________________ Bob 65 Notch S with Sunroof

You bet Bob. I thought the 74 Bus was the last resto. This Ghia sure is. Time to just polish and drive them. _________________

1966 Type III Squareback Original Paint Survivor Price: 17,900
FOR SALE! Early bird special priced to move on down the line quickly at $17,900. This is an outstanding original paint 66 type III Squareback survivor car from California that has spent the last 15 years hidden in a garage near my home. Truly outstanding survivor and the cleanest unrestored type III I have come across. Zero rust anywhere, some blending on the roof but otherwise all og. I have tons of pics and videos. This car should be priced well into the 20s but time is of the essence, dont miss out. Located in Danville, Va. |
Nice car.
He only got one email from an interested party so I'm guessing he got call(s).

Well, it does look clean and complete. Probably unmolested as well. Those are all bonus points. _________________ Bob 65 Notch S with Sunroof

To me the seats gotta be re-done with correct 66 stuff, and the rust spot on the rear driver under the trim has to be addressed and it's not gonna be easy to blend right there. That made 17 too high for me, type 3's can be a tough sell but it is a nice looking car, hope the new owner comes here and posts more pics. Also, the seller is a buyer seller, so know that it's a quick flip. Nothing wrong with that, he seems like a nice guy that's does 'em right, adds quality parts etc. No harm no foul, another nicer pretty original car to be seen _________________ Stop dead photo links! Maybe so, but it looks like a car you could load up a bunch of stuff and your GF or wife into and get away for a long weekend in without too many worries. Or just take it to the mall and not worry about parking it in the parking lot. There's a lot to be said about cars like that.
It also has the starting point for doing a full on resto, to fix all of the stuff you'd want fixed. I think that's why it sold quickly, as it applied to both a restorer and a driver that didn't need to be restored. _________________ Bob 65 Notch S with Sunroof
