Pretty good list - but it's missing one that I can think of:

"I have all/90% of the parts" which means "I have about 60% of the parts because this car has been apart for years".

Or "mint condition" = it used to be green, underneath all the sloppy repaints and the rust.

That's a pretty good list, and I think I've ran into most of them at 1 time or another.

I can read between the lines.
What the seller really means is that the engine itself has completely corroded out from under the fuel injection system because its been sitting out in the yard since 2002!

I posted about this same ad last July.

https://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?t=...start=9063

Apparently most sellers do not check here to see how their ads are being received!

Sorry, but I am just not seeing the money here. Is it in the glovebox? Should be about $1500 in cash there someplace.

Generous...it's a $300 car at best.

A couple of years ago, I bought a 72 Squareback for $300. I got it to run before I parted it out...original FI but it leaked everywhere. The car was so rusty that a buddy and I pulled the front clip off with our hands. The car in this ad looks like it's in similar condition except that it doesn't run.

"nearly fully restored"

lol

This car seems... overpriced. Am I confused or isn't this just a standard auto trans square?

Nothing unusual about it, but the owner is clearly not a VW person or they would know that.

About 10X overpriced.

Must not get out much. Rolling Eyes
"In 40 years I have seen three of these, and this is one of them - these are largely unknown to exist at all, and I have seen almost everything there is the the "old VW world..." after working as a VW repair tech off-and-on for about 20 out of 40 years."

I've got 1 in the backyard that's still together, and 1 mostly apart, plus my son has 1 in the tent (portable garage). That's 3 right there not including his. Laughing
Rockers are definitely toast, and it's had it's rear fenders dealer modified. But with no title, good luck on getting 3900. Razz

Definitely over priced. It does look pretty decent though, just not sure about the "Weber single carb conversion" and duct work (first time seeing something like that).

I like that they got aftermarket door panels and then did nothing with the top of the door where the plastic trim is supposed to be...looks better with holes Confused
