You should post some context about why you include a link...
In my opinion, if they're truly NOS heat exchangers, that's not an out of line price. NOS heat exchangers aren't easy to find and tend to be this price or higher when they come up for sale. The seller should have posted more photos or at least an image of the other one that belongs to the pair.
Having said that, I have several for sale, and only one of them is less expensive than those in the ad you linked. |

That looks pretty cruddy to be NOS. The bands look painted; they were not originally. Looks like one of the mounting tabs is missing or bent. And it is missing the hard-to-find rear donut and clamp. |

To me NOS is new and unused. If something is used it is not NOS. _________________ www.vwnos.com [email protected]
Classic Brands. Classic Quality.
Not all parts are made the same. NOS OE/OEM parts made mainly in West Germany, Early Germany, and Early Brazil are where VW produced the best quality parts and best fitting products.

I tend to agree that they are not in the best of condition but paint and the missing rear clamp do no necessarily mean that they're not NOS.
For example: I have two NOS heat exchangers that are both missing that clamp/gasket - on the same token, I have a set of used heat exchangers that look better than any NOS heat exchanger I've ever seen.
EDIT: Here's a pic of one of my used heat exchangers:
The term "NOS" is a bit of a misnomer, in my opinion, because people automatically think it means that the part is perfect/complete and that's simply not the case in some circumstances. It means that the part is new and hasn't been used - it could have had pieces removed, been painted or scratched up. It's still new and uninstalled - just in shit condition or incomplete.

Or it was an ill fitting reject replacement that simply was tossed back in the box. _________________

Or....the term "NOS"......is simply being thrown around like "NOX" was in the "Fast and furious" movies.......and pronounced "Nawssss"......and meaning nothing .....but sounding cool......yeah....it could be that......

$60 is still an optimistic price but it's a bit more realistic than it was previously. |

I'm going to go ahead and say $60 is crack head insane for that condition.
White needle clocks are a dime/dozen
There are 55 ads for clocks on the site right now, not all white needle though _________________ How to Post Photos

That clock looks like it was snagged on a fishing line and wiped of with a scotch bite lens and all. |

Just want to quickly whine about the CIP1 type 3 rear wraparound reflector seals. Added them in to the cart to get free shipping. They're almost a centimeter too short and a few MM to narrow.
Also bought their turn signal seal pair (wraparound). Sent me two lefts.
So much for that. Back to ISP. _________________ '67 Squareback
