Great!....that was going to be the next question. If one were to..... pick up .....an addiction to crack.....which antenna would you prefer if you had more than one to choose from at any given moment!
And.....how is collecting NOS VW parts.....different from a crack addiction?
Dont tell me you wouldn't pawn your wifes' jewelry......to buy a particularly unobtanium part!

I picture you at a swap meet.....gaunt...emaciated....un shaven.....filthy clothes.....digging through bags of change and stolen "SNAP" cards....trying to scrape up enough to purchase an NOS tail light assembly.....

Question:
I know that we are trying to determine some type 3 parts and vehicles that may have been overly priced and are not really commensurate to their conditions and rarity, to say the least. Nevertheless, it is really an advantage or disadvantage whenever we see a Type 3, parts of vehicles, that are extremely over priced? Just a thought and I know that if you own a Type 3 with a high tag price attached to it, it is an advantage. Just asking, Buddies! _________________ '67 KG Cabrio (Mickey) ;

We all like to complain. Some more than others.
Most the time I dont give a shit what people ask or charge. If you want it and need it you will buy it. How can anyone have a budget with any classic car? You dont. You either keep tossing money at it or you sell it. Thats always been the determining factor. Its just that in this case - most of us are at an age where when we got into this whole VW deal, cars and parts were low hanging fruit - cheap, readily available and accessible. So we complain because it used to be different. You know just like when your Grandma complained that candy bars were 5 cents.

After I barfed, I looked a little closer... interesting vehicle... skills to meld those front fenders in. Why a 4-banger, and not a small V-6? Agreed bumpers should be thinner old parts. Part off-road monster, part Snorklestang... would be cool to see finished and in action, but I'd never pay $3K for that... that... that THING. |
