Looks like a great start to a project with a restored car price. |
And it seems to be contagious:

I know a way to instantly drop the value of these cars back to 1980 levels... I'll put mine up for sale. _________________ Немає виправдання для війни! Я з Україною.

Is there any panel on that car that doesn't have some sort of dent or rust? Sorry, just too much money for someone elses project that they got tired of.
For about 10% of the asking price, I can got out to California and I can pick up a 92 Geo Prizm GSI, which are actually rare. _________________ Bob 65 Notch S with Sunroof

Oh ok that makes sense. I knew they started sometime around there. On 1968 mustangs they started putting them on the dash so I thought maybe it was a federally mandated thing. _________________ SEMPER PARATUS!

Wow. That looks like it was either stored out side, or in a barn with a family of rodents guarding it.
I suppose if you were looking for one, you could do worse. But that thing will need some money and time to be right. _________________ Bob 65 Notch S with Sunroof

Jeebus, $30K..
https://www.thesamba.com/vw/classifieds/detail.php?id=2262475
" The interior has been restored to a high level"
High level of what? JC Whitney? Where do we start?
Wrong seat covers
Wrong door panels
Wrong arm rests
Wrong steering wheel
Wrong dash pad
Wrong windlace
"Dealer installed A/C" with no compressor or hoses evident in the engine bay
Aftermarket carbs with silly looking air cleaners sucking hot air from the engine bay Ooooh... and it looks like you even get an 009!
For $30K, could I at LEAST get the cardboard trunk liner for under the bonnet and the correct coverings in the rear trunk?
Guess not.
Don't get me wrong- it's a nice car! But at least price it realistically and don't go overboard pointing out the flaws and claiming they're "features" of the "restoration". _________________ Немає виправдання для війни! Я з Україною.

And... yet another project car needing EVERYTHING redone at a very optimistic completed car price of $15,000:
https://www.thesamba.com/vw/classifieds/detail.php?id=2268603
WHERE are they coming from???
I can no longer afford to pay all of the insurance and repairs
So someone else should be willing to pay $15K to pay for this?
She was a gift from my Aunt Sharon, whom I was close with, and left to me when she passed in November of 2008.
I totally get this. Really. But your memories have no value to anyone else. Keep the memories; dump the car.
this car is not common. It's a rare car and I have only seen two other Squarebacks in person in 11 years on the road and throughout adventures all around California and even parts of Nevada
You need to get out more. Looking around my property I see 7 of 'em. Four are mine, three are customer's cars. As far as "rare"... I seriously probably see MORE 1971s for sale than any other model year. Almost every Automatic I see is a '71, too. There are 18 1971s including yours in the Classifieds right now! _________________ Немає виправдання для війни! Я з Україною.
