Yes, this is my thought too.
The one in the ad probably has 109K or 209K KMs on it and could be broken |
The red paint swipe on the threads tells me it was previously installed, so yes, it is likely a "used good" part. _________________ Немає виправдання для війни! Я з Україною.

It could be so much nicer looking with a little bit of work.
What's up with those front seat backs? They look wacky.

At $8k seemed decent and he got a lot of interest. At $30k then now 1 day later it's $25k, maybe the seller isn't sure on the price they want. But for those marshmallow seats and paint - that seems rich. _________________ 1964 Type3 Notch

I’m certain this seller bought it and is trying to flip it and doesn’t have a clue what he has, except it’s “rare and desirable” |

Sounds that way to me. I wonder if he has any engine pics? I like to see them and under frunk pics as well. I mean for 25 to 29K, it's the least he could post up. _________________ Bob 65 Notch S with Sunroof

Its a 66, nice but far from rare or a classic. The description says it was built as an art project. Looks nice but not my style. At least if not lowered, bagged and scrapping its pan. _________________ '68 Lotus White T34 automatic sunroof

On that orange one....why are there two condensers. One on the generator and one by the distributor?

All point dizzys have a condenser but the one on the generator is a noise suppressor for the radio.

The one on the generator is for noise (electronic) cancellation. There's probably a 3rd one near the VR, or up front by the radio. _________________ Bob 65 Notch S with Sunroof

This orange FB is clearly a Calif car ,has the EGR and the relay yet is has an extra port on the oil bath none I ever saw had this and it seems added on looks like plastic . It has the dual vacuum can on the dist with the lines running to the left so it must have the three port valve some had. It has the hoses the the heads for the PCV system yet the left side didn't run in back of the engine it ran across the back behind the IAD. It still has the pick up ring to the diagnostic plug to check the timing from #1 plug wire.
I have a 73 calif car that had the EGR it was all there. The only difference was the dual advance with the three way valve yet the oil bath was the same didn't have that extra port on the left and I can't see where the hose runs , that looks added on. Only 72 sold in Calif had the EGR and all 73's had it.
The reason I bring up the hose from the left head across the rear is the head port is on the front on the left side never saw one routed like this Mine goes across the front behind the IAD and mine was the original red hose never touched and that extra port on the oil bath , can't imagine what that is supposed to do. It's not part of the PCV system and not part of the EGR and not part of the charcoal evap. Wonder if this was added as a breather vent and the PCV is missing. The only difference in a 72 and 73 Calif was the dual distributor vacuum can and the added three port valve which mounts on the MPS plate along with the EGR relay. The silver relay you can see on the left where the MPS is hidden |
