Has anyone ever machined down the inside mounting surface on these wheels so the backspace was more like the original Empi's? Sorry I can't find the pics anymore but the Empi's mounting surface is much slimmer and the AE ones are wider. Just seeing if anyone has had this machined down before? |

The rocket alloy has about 7/16 less than the eagle alloy. This is the Rocket alloy have machined my eagles to fit better. So the answer is yes it is doable.
And here is the Eagle before I machined it.

Exactly the pics I remembered. How much did it cost you? And is that the amount you took off? 7/16" Or did you just make it flush and take that step off? |

I had done these my self. I have a mill in the garage (or about $3500 as my wife would say). The step is about 1/2 or 13mm and the rocket alloys had the same step so I made them the same. _________________ "What we obtain too cheap, we esteem too lightly: 'tis dearness only that gives everything its value.
