Put in some missing tinware, tensioned the fan belt a little and adjusted the valves then took it out for a ride. |

Added the rubber wedge to the driver's side door. It was missing.
You cannot just get the wedge, have to buy the striker plate too (if you can just get the wedge, please let us know!). So ordered one from WW. It's ok. the rubber and metal wedge is actually moulded plastic with no metal. So I put it on my passenger door, and used the passenger door wedge (you can flip it) on my driver's door.

#0000 steel wool works good too, following by chrome polish
This is only #0000 steel wool

Nice work. Proper lubrication with steel wool is key to prevent swirlies left behind. |

Passed a friend last night and went to honk at him... NO HORN! spent the rest of my 5 minute drive trying to press the horn in different ways and even took the button off and jumped to the wire with a metal tool i have in my glovebox.
red lights are long around these parts, give me a break,
got up today and started sanding electrical connectors. damn fuse box corroded on me. all good now! |

Installed new battery in my 67 Bug. Size 42. Nice...
Old one was 10 years old with 2 dying cells. Got my money's worth. Happy not to have to worry (too much) about not starting during this season of car shows and weekend rides. _________________ 1967 Beetle

Last weekend, popped a new woodruff key into the generator pulley shaft, and installed a new fan belt and shims (didn't have enough and they were all outside the pulley). All good now. _________________ “If you care for a thing long enough, it takes on a life of its own, doesn't it?
