Was that for me? I don't believe it has the kitchenette, just the tent, and the understorage. Overall it is in good shape. Needs a Zipper fixed. _________________ "Two things are infinite: The universe and human stupidity; and I'm not sure about the universe." Albert Einstein

|
|
Here are some pics of the one I just picked up. I was checking out the canvas. Didn't have enough room to open it all the way, but all the parts are there. Thanks to Greg at Vintage Warehouse for the instruction links
The canvas needs a bit of cleaning......Any good advice there?
I washed the cover yesterday, and the mold that was on the canvas cover ate a hole in the cover. My neighbor who is an upholsterer (sp?)
has some canvas and is going to fix the hole for me and color it. _________________ "Two things are infinite: The universe and human stupidity; and I'm not sure about the universe." Albert Einstein

In response to your question about cleaning the canvas:
If you have dry rot going on buy a new canvas.
If the canvas still has some life, clean with a mild soap and water. I bought a small inflatable pool, filled it with water and soap and dunked the whole tent in there.
Erect the tent to let it dry.
Spray the tent with Canvak. Canvak is a canvas treatment material. I think it is parafin in mineral spirits. Cabellas has the best prices I have found. http://www.cabelas.com/prod-1/0005871513996a.shtml
To apply the Canvak I bought a cheap hand pump weed sprayer. Plan on leaving the tent open for a couple days to let it air out.
Best of luck. |

Thanks Anchovy! Damn you're name makes me miss the Pacific.
I grew up in L.A. and went to high school at Mission Bay High, and then onto SD State. Lived in MB, back when there was still 2 lanes on each side of Mission Blvd........Ah, the good old days. _________________ "Two things are infinite: The universe and human stupidity; and I'm not sure about the universe." wondering if anyone knows of a heilite for sale? I'm planning a three week summer road trip and not looking forward to tenting it. No longer have my beetle , my small car is not able to pull a full size trailer so I'm looking at other options... A friend told me about the heilite model and I think it would be perfect for my trip. Only problem is that there isn't too much activity out there right now. Appreciate your help. |

Looks like a viscount, but it has no camp kitchen.
I'd say between $300 and $700 depending on how nice it all is. |
