Fuel gauge or fuel sender? It's usually the fuel sender in the tank that gives problems. Just about have to have the Bentley Manual w/wiring diagrams to replace the fuel gauge! |

Disconnect the cables from the battery, then drop the fuse box so you can release the tangs that hold the fuel gauge cluster unit in place. Remove the unit, and unplug the black connector from the back of it. Now use a screw driver to remove the 2 screws holding the gauge to the cluster unit. Install the new gauge, and reassemble the reverse of removal. I hope this helps. _________________ Bob 65 Notch S with Sunroof

I allready replaced the sending unit.
As far as replacing it, sounds simple, I just thought there would be more to it like having to remove the dash or some special trick.

Wow! You don't have to unplug all the wires! The black thing with all the wires & bulbs just snaps off the metal unit! That does make it pretty simple. Thanks Bobnotch |

ya i kinda figured that, i was just gonna remove the wires one at a time and put back on new one.
I just didnt want to get into it and get stuck, because i hate electrical shyt, but it sounds easy.
Let you all know later this weekend how it turned out.
thenks for the replies...... |
